Road to Perdition

The roads at night
Seldom complains of
Their drudgery of the day.

Serene and tranquil,
They toil hard to
Take each wanderer
To their destination.
Bring them a little
Closer to their home.

Grey clouds takes
A leisurely stroll
Across the dusky sky,
And the day slowly
Turns to sleep
Facing the other side.
The night puts an
End to our daily,
Mundane routines.

And the roads
Come home.
Dank, dark, soaked
In rain. Drenched in
The memories of
Crossing paths with
Complete strangers.

They talk to me.

Are you lost?
Why don't you go,
somewhere, anywhere?
Don't you have
Nowhere to go?

I don't know what to
Tell the roads.
Where will I go
When I have no home.
